Shrink Film Guide: POF vs PE vs PVC for Your Products
Your shrink tunnel and sealer can only perform as well as the film you feed them. Choosing the right shrink film affects pack appearance, strength, running cost and food-contact compliance.
POF (polyolefin)
POF is the versatile all-rounder: strong, glossy, odourless and food-safe, with no chlorine. It suits food, cosmetics and retail multipacks and runs cleanly on most modern tunnels — usually the default recommendation.
PE (polyethylene)
PE is tougher and thicker, made for heavy or bulky products such as bottled-water bundles and industrial packs. It costs less per pack for large items but gives a less glossy finish.
PVC
PVC shrinks at lower temperatures and is inexpensive, but it releases fumes when sealed and is less suited to food contact. Many manufacturers are moving away from it toward POF.

Each film needs the right temperature and belt-speed profile. When we size a shrink tunnel or L-sealer, we tune it to your chosen film so seals are consistent and waste stays low.
