How to Plan a Turnkey Packaging Line
A turnkey packaging line replaces a patchwork of standalone machines with one integrated, automated system. Planning it well is what turns a big investment into years of reliable output.
1. Map the product flow
Start from the product and work outward: infeed, sealing, shrinking, conveying, coding and dispatch. Document throughput at each stage so no machine becomes a bottleneck.
2. Size each machine to the slowest step
A line runs at the pace of its slowest station. We size sealers, tunnels and conveyors together so the whole system holds a steady, balanced rate.
3. Design the layout and controls
Floor space, operator access and maintenance clearance all shape the layout. Centralised PLC/HMI controls make a multi-machine line easy to run and monitor.
4. Plan installation and support
A single point of responsibility for design, build, installation and after-sales support avoids finger-pointing between vendors. That single-supplier accountability is the core of Packten's turnkey approach.
