A Shrink Tunnel Maintenance Checklist to Cut Downtime
Most shrink-tunnel stoppages are avoidable. A short, consistent maintenance routine keeps output steady and extends the life of the machine.
Daily
Wipe down the conveyor and chamber, clear film scraps from the belt, and check that the temperature stabilises at the set point. Listen for unusual fan or motor noise.
Weekly
Inspect the conveyor belt for wear and tracking, check air-circulation fans and vents for dust build-up, and confirm the sealing components on the upstream sealer are clean.
Monthly
Examine heating elements and wiring, verify temperature-sensor accuracy, lubricate moving parts per the manual and review spare-part stock so a small failure never becomes a long stoppage.
Keep records
Log each check. A simple maintenance log helps operators spot trends early and makes service visits faster. Packten customers on an AMC get a scheduled preventive plan and priority support.
